Ram Aviation Customer Care Review

My group also had a horrible experience in September 2016. We were sold on a late season hunt that included artic oven tents. When we arrived, tents provided had no stoves like promised. The tents they gave us were three season tents...the one's that have vents that you can't zip closed...not ideal in windy, single digit temps that we expected. That was just the beginning. Much of the gear they provided was damaged, dirty, or expired. I get it, we are hunting, I am not staying in the Ritz. However, when we unpack our set-up (provided and dumped off by Ram), we were given: broken tent poles, broken camp chairs, water jugs with holes, tents with enough dirt in them that we had to shovel the dirt and debris out from previous camps, incorrect tents, and the list continues. We called Sheila on the Sat phone the morning after they dropped us off, and she told us they would bring new tents by. They did drop off one new tent...that was still a three season tent with no way to close off the mesh from the outside. We made due with what we had, as we packed some miscellaneous items like duct tape, etc. When we were picked up and returned to the airport, Sheila told us we should have called her every time we had an issue. (Am I supposed to waste my Sat phone battery calling her every five minutes? So when am emergency arises, I can't reach them?) We also returned to a completely closed up shop. There office was pallet wrapped and boxed up for the season. So had we actually returned with a plane full of meat, we would have not been able to process it at their office like promised. The topper on the cake was that when we returned, everyone high tailed and disappeared. Literally, not a word was spoken by the other employees. Weeks after our trip we learned that one of the pilots was the "new" business owner. He was the first one to leave after a silent flight back. Poor customer service. Broken gear. Moldy food. Never again!!!

As a veteran of more than a dozen similar hunting trips, my son and I are today returning from a flight provided by Ram Avaition. We had met Sheila in Kotzebue 2 years previous while booked with another service. We became acquainted while waiting for the weather to clear over a 3 day period. We then bumped into her a year later at their booth at the Denver Sportsman Show. She knew we (my son and another 12 year old) had been unsuccessful and encouraged us to think about returning, using them. We are returning now/today extremely satisfied. The boys did not get record size caribou, but we're successful and had a GREAT experience. They both took bulls they will have mounted. They fished and enjoyed the wilderness. We saw and experienced several bear, had a Muskox within 100 yds of camp, not to mention moose and fox. We were met at the airport, they carried our bags, ferried us to/from the hotel and airport, even taking us to the store. The boys weren't fishing but Sheila suggested and threw in 2 poles and some lures just in case we had time. (My son caught more fish than on any other time in his life). We enjoyed their very attentive staff, their professional pilots and service. I have read the experiences to the contrary and can only say we are extremely satisfied and would recommend them to others. I will be giving Sheila permission to give out my contact information should you like to discuss in greater detail. D&Z Edwards 9/11/2016

CARIBOU HUNT DISASTER

Several issues arose during our time in the Alaska wilderness. 1. On numerous occasions, I placed Satellite phone calls to Sheila Spasik co-owner of Ram Aviation - this was the only emergency phone number given to us.. On numerous times- my phone call went unanswered- with no ability to leave a message. 2. On Tueday Sept 18, I observed you notifying Sheila on the situation with the native American hunting from the river in front of us. 3. On Wed. Sept 19th. The Alaska State Troopper respopnsible for this area landed and notified us this was a legal act, and that Ram Air definitely knew this was going on in the area. 4. On Wed Sept 20th I called Sheila to verify how many of our group was coming out of the field on Friday Sept 21st. She told me all of us were coming out of the field and to call her back at 9:00 am on Firday Sept 21 with a weather update. Mike Beals asked her if four of us could stay til Sat. She notified him with an answer of she didn't think so, But I could call back between 12:00 and 1:00pm to talk to her husband Mike Spisak abut it.I followed her instructions by call 11-12 times during this time frame, but the calls went unanswered. 5. Friday morning Sept 21, Chad PArrish called from a different Satellite phone number at the schedueled 9:00 am time with a weather report.Still no determination on how many folks were coming our of the field. 6. Late in the day around 7:00pm. Mike Spisak arrived at our location. He got out of his airplane and was greated by Mike Beals who asked "How are you doing" Mike Spisak responded " I'm pissed" Several remarks insued which I could not hear, but did hear Mike Spisak raise his voice, which Mike Beals responded "Don't you use foul language with me". Mike Spisak was very agitated and told Mike Beals his check had not cleared. Mike Beals responded " I have your cash righ here in my pocket" at which Mike Spisak responded " I don't want it, you and Eddie Goynes are not getting on this airplane". I asked him why and he said there was a problem with his wife and me. I told Mike Spisak that I was never disrespectful of his wife, I never used foul or loud language, and only called her at her request at the specific times. Mike Spisak then said if we ( Mike Beals and myself) didn't shut up he would leave all of us out here for good.. Mike Spisak took four of our group back with him and later another airplane came and took two of our group with them. 7. On Sat Sept 22, Chad Parrish called in at (;00pm with a weather report- Sheila could not guarantee a pick-up time. Chad asked her numerous times, How many hunters do you have in the Field, How many hunters are schedueled for extraction, and what is the priority for pick up. Sheila had the same answer each time, "I DON'T KNOW". 8. Ram Aviation flew on Sat until weather locked them down, but never answered their phone, and then on Sunday after the weather let up did they come and get us at 7:30 pm. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE BAD PEOPLE

I would like to know the Truth about Ram Aviation. Are they legit or not.

I would like to schedule a Caribou Hunt w/ them, but after these Reviews, I going looking for another Outfitter.

When I spoke w/ Shelia 1 1/2 years ago, I felt everything was on the up and up. I just pulled up the site and only found these Bad Reviews.

Trip was planed with ram aviation. Everything was perfect.

Very friendly and got us in and out of the field. Bonus was I shot a pope and young caribou.

Great people. If you had a problem it was probably because you were you.

Flew with them several times...had a good experience the first time in 2006... It was worse each year...

As we all know Mike and Sheila were probably busy hiding their money form the Government in off shore banks and putting their assets in false LLCs in their kids name and even his ex wife's name if you can believe that..... Well it is all public record as Mike just got sentenced to 44 months in jail for tax evasion !!!!!!!!

Check it out on line. GOOD BYE RAM AVAITION!!!
